STOP YOUR RESEARCH!!! I spoke with customer service a couple of times to learn what is the correct DAC for my needs. They were extremely helpful! This product was their choice and I want to say it was really easy to install (maybe 10 minutes). It works GREAT and the sound is awesome! I am VERY pleased! Thank you!!!

This product solved my issues of splitting my HDMI into video out, and both, digital and stereo out, for my audio. Now, I can have surround sound, plus send a stereo signal to the bass shaker in our SIM rig.

I was really to glad to find this audio device. It was very affordable and work well with my sound bar and Roku 3 box. I need a way to get my stereo sound from my HDTV and this was the right box. Easy to hookup and use with two HDMI cords. I gave up my cable today and I am loving it.....especially the price! This was definitely a "Great Purchase."

I have connected this to my Roku 3 and have used the Optical Spdif to connect to my DAC of my Audio System. I can now listen to Pandora, Spotify without switching ON my TV. The product is well made and easy to install

Great little device that gets the job done. For those of you seeking to confirm, it certainly does output the 5.1 sound via the optical out. My home theater indicates when it is receiving PCM, 5.1, DTS etc and whatever the source audio selected, the home theater indicates the very same coming from the J-Tec splitter (including DTS sound). I gave 4 stars instead of 5 since at the start of a DTS sound source, there is a sharp (1 second or less) sound that comes through to the speakers...this only happens once during playback and for DTS audio ONLY. I haven't used enough DTS sound sources to determine if this is consistently every time...but so far it seems to be.
